Tree Planting!

Photo from my teacher

A few weeks ago, the 6th grade at my middle school went out to Hillside Park to plant trees! But there was less sunshine than we thought because it started pouring rain. For some background information, my school and Keep Durham Beautiful partnered up to plant trees at Hillside Park, a recreational park in Durham. It has been around for 104 years. My groupmates and I decided to name the tree we planted, Bob the Builder Who Builds Dinosaur Trains (B.T.B.W.B.D.T or Cartin for short!), for nostalgic purposes. We worked hard to get this tree planted, muddy shoes, sweat, and cloud tears called rain went into the little plant. I’m not totally sure why one of the people supervising us didn’t let us go under the pavilion with them when the rain started, but whatever. Apparently, it was because it wasn’t lightning. It was still a great experience.
